The 10 things you need to know to communicate with a college coach in season

1. Timing is Key

Understanding the coach's schedule is crucial. Coaches are typically swamped during the season with practices, games, and travel. Try to reach out during less hectic times, such as early mornings or during their office hours. Avoid contacting them on game days or immediately before or after a big competition.

2. Be Patient

Coaches may not always respond promptly due to their busy schedules. Be patient and give them the time they need to get back to you. Avoid sending multiple follow-up messages in quick succession, as this can be overwhelming.

3. Show Genuine Interest

When reaching out to a coach, express your genuine interest in their program. Mention specific details about the team's performance, recent accomplishments, or aspects of their coaching style that resonate with you. This shows that you've done your homework and are genuinely interested in joining their program.
